    Jim Shockey Jaguar live capture

anybody else watch this show? they follow a biologist in paraguay who's trying to help the jaguars by studying their movements. trees them with dogs and shoots them with a tranquilizer.

the second big male they tried to capture killed four of his six dogs! pretty sad.

Sometimes reality and hunting shows don't mix very well. I feel badly for the man and his dogs but am pleased that they aren't willing to put up a facade about a hunt gone wrong.

I watched it, and although Jim Shockey comes off as arrogant sometimes, I have to give him and his production staff credit for showing the reality of what the biologist and others are trying to do in Paraguay. I thought they portrayed a bad situation in the best possible way.

I felt for the tracker, after they found the first dog dead I had that sick gut feeling for him. It really got to me when I heard his son say "Dad, he's gonna kill them all."

I think that is why they showed the production meeting and discussion at the end, I think it was pre-damage control for what I am sure will be some fall-out for showing the reality of the situation.

It did serve as a reality check for how diluted and scripted/staged (and often without our realizing) hunting shows have become.

That jaguar had to be bad A to whup those dogs one at a time. All you heard was a single yelp. Intermittently.

                              Good show, well presented.

A jaguar that won't tree is a dog killing machine...
