    Anybody familiar with this?

I tried reading it but got a headache.

Just sounds like you have to be in the business to get exemptions of paying sales tax on things that are used in agriculture and timber industries.

yes. Just another way for the state to check to make sure that the people who are claiming sales tax exemptions for products used in agriculture are actaully entitled to the exemption....and so they can track it and keep tabs on you, what you are doing, what you are buying, how much, etc.

They are the government, and they are here to help!!

Actually, this has probably been needed for a long time. Lots of abuse of tax exemptions these days.

Sounds like a typical state run thing....

Beginning Jan. 1, 2012, a registration number will be required

How do I apply for a registration number?

We are working on the application now and will have it available on the Comptroller's website and by mail as soon as possible. Sign up for email or text message updates, and we will notify you when the application and other information about this new program is available.
Gotta have it in 4 months and they dont even have applications yet....

          Thanks,

I'll just carry a file cabinet around with me. Let's see farm exemption number, diesel exemption number, blah, blah, blah. What's one more? Tractor Supply already sends me a list every year with stuff I bought that was tax exempt. That's one of the reasons I only buy something there as a last resort.
