What a Great Day!

Was it beautiful today or what. Nice and cool this morning and didn't get as hot as they said it would. Great morning hunt, shot a cull buck on my walk back to camp. Filled feeders, worked on feeders, worked on stands, cut some brush. Yeah, I know, should of done all that before season. Anyway, this afternoon went down to a stand we haven't bothered since we set it up in August. Sets along the edge of a slew near the river. Wood ducks were going crazy all afternoon. Set there and watched them until dark. Them dudes are about as pretty as a duck can be. Watching them with the sun coming through the trees and them swimming in and out of the shade made for a real nice afternoon. All that fun and did not see one deer. Mental note, feeder feeds too late, definitely a morning stand from now on.

that definitely sounds like a relaxing time to me, is that crazy ? I went out this morning, tried capping a coyote at 600 yards and hit directly underneath it - I think it laid a trail of something brownish for a mile ! You ever need some help / want some good company tmag, give this military boy a call !
