Some take 114 to Lubbock from the north part of the metromess. I live in the Weatherford area and most people take I20 past Sweetwater then north on 84 to Lubbock. I prefer to take 180 through Mineral Wells, Breckenridge, Albany and on to Snyder where you turn north on 84. The 180 route is shorter mileage-wise but takes about the same time as going I20 because of the small towns you go through. I just like that drive better. My guess is from Keller you are looking at at least 5 hours.Last edited by jerp; 08-23-2011, 09:49 AM.

It depends on how you like to travel. If you like scenery and like to occasionally push the speed up then I'd take 114 to Bridgeport then jump on 380 til you get to Post. If you want to put it on cruise and don't care about the scenery then I'd take I-20 to Sweetwater then cruise on in on 84.

Thanks guys, I am going to take the scenic route, not really in a big hurry, have a meeting in the morning and then probably going over to Silverton to hang out with my son for a little while, his company just started a big construction project out there, they are building the platforms for the transmission lines that are circling Ammarillo, I think it is going to be for all the wind generating that is going on out there. From there I think I will swing back through Crowell and Vernon to check our places for dove, probably be home late tomorrow, headed out the door now, thanks.
