I am going to set up a ground blind at a watering hole this year. There isn't much cover here but there is a set of corrals. Do you think if I set the blind up 2 or 3 weeks before season that the deer will get used to it being there. Should I still brush it??? I set it up in the backyard and shot from it. I was shooting low when sitting in the blind. Is this normal? Sorry for all the questions but I've never hunted from a ground blind and I know some of you guys have a lot of experience with them.

I hunt from ground blinds only and have for 20 yrs, I am going to set out 2 new ones this weekend and brush them up. I like mine in the area for about 3-4 weeks. The way they make um now days they look pretty good right out of the box but I always brush mine to make the shape a little more natural than just a square. I have never noticed shooting low but, I have shoot so long from one and I practice out of one I probably wouldn't know..

I threw up a ground blind not to long ago for a pig hunt.
The blind was back in the woods but not brushed in.
We had deer at my feeder at 15 yds all day. (but no piggies)
I would still brush it in and I plan to for deer season.
If you're use to shooting from an elevated stand and then go to ground level, you will hit lower. You need to practice from the ground and from the same position that you would while hunting.
