Any one know how the acorns are in real county this year

In Newton county, East Texas, I saw that a swamp oak( in the white oak family ith the big acorns) as throwing off the acorns, hull included, Also saw lot of young saplings that were dead from the drought. The drought sure is wreaking havoc.

I think the trees produced good last year out of pure desperation because out the lack of rain. This year there is no rain to speak of and the trees are just tapped out. They must be using their energy to just stay alive.
