I remember reading a thread here last week (I think) where some employers/business owners said something to the effect of - any employee who is surfing the web on my time is going to be shown the door. While it is their right to do so, that act may show some ignorance in the human ralational side of management. Then again, they are business owners and not managers. Two different skill sets that are, quite often, not found in the same person. This is not the first study I have seen that comes to this conclusion either. Just some food for thought.

couldn't agree more. I have to write a lot at work. Sometimes if I get stuck on a sentence or can't figure out how to say what I need to say I browse online or play a few games of solitaire. When I come back, 9 times outta 10 I can figure it out right away. I think it depends a lot on what you do for a living, though.
