    Gravity Feeder?

For the ones that use corn in a gravity feeder do the deer use it in the daytime or just show up after dark?

At our place, both. We only have one that gravity feeds and they seem to use it just as often or more, since the corn is always available.

i gravity feed and feed deer chow free choice and they come in at all times. to me using a spin feeder saw me less deer than feeding free choice by far. by keeping food available 24/7 the deer seem to never leave my area and I've finally got a large buck comin in also

          x2 to JSF.

With gravity you seem to have more deer but can't time or pattern them they way you do with a spinner. We use both and the the gravity gets alot more action. It also goes through a lot more corn though but can keep bigger smarter deer around your place.

Gravity/free choice for protein back in the woods in their safehaven, preferably not hunted over. IMO corn needs to be fed in a sling feeder. Corn provides hardly NO nutritional value to animals and is used more as an attractant( very low in protein and fat/high in carbs). Once they drop velvet and during the rut it will provide them with with the carbs they need for energy. That is why protein consumption dramatically stops when they drop velvet.

We have 3 gravity or free choice feeders and have pictures during the daylight and dark. We will let these run dry so they are empty on Oct. 1st and then start them back up middle of January after season. We are feeding 20% protein pellets in ours.
