I hope the break in time isn't long, I'm gonna wait to buy mine till I get there, cant see paying a big shipping charge to get them here, just to take them with me?

Oh well, I guess Cabelas is a s good as none at all.

I guess i'm in the odd crowd, I have lace ups! Didn't like the slip ons, calf is too big and there was no way to get them on. Dont like the zippers, cause they kept coming open. I ended up with Danners! Love them!

Zip ups hands down, but be prepared that zipper is gonna break and you will have to put some aftermarket ones on there

I went and tried on Chips over the weekend. I will be ordering all leather slip-ons.

Question is what size? I am a 9-B which means I can get 8 1/2-D and hope I don't run out of toe room or get 9-D and add insoles to take up the extra space...

I have the zippered mocassin type. The only time I use the zipper is if I take them off and my socks are a little damp, they are hard to get back on. Very, very comfortable.

I got the slip on chips about 8 years ago. I don't remember the break in being bad at all. They are some of the best boot I have ever had. I can wear the all day I the South Texas heat. I don't know that I'll ever go with anything but my Chips in the slip on.

the zippers are really easy for me to take on and off. Also, I like the zippers because when sitting down for a while I can unzip them and get a little (not much) air flow and cool down easier. I bought mine before a dove hunt last year and at the end of the first day, almost crawled to the truck on my knees. I had blisters to the bone but they fit great know.

I went with these from online boot store. Outlet would be even cheaper but I'v been trying to get to the dang outlet for over a year!

Stic, since you are going to be in the DFW area when you fly in, you should stop by the Justin Boot Outlet mentioned above and save yourself some good money on their irregulars. They are in Ft.Worth on the left side of I-30 on your way out to the Diamond C.

My Chip zip moccasins were $200+ at retail and $119 as an irregular. I had a scratch on my leather that seemingly made them qualify as irregular. I had ten times that many by the end of the first day I wore them so that one scratch didn't bother me to save almost $80. The slip-ons were $99-109. Also....if you don't want the blems they have better prices on the Chips than Cabelas.

I bought the slip on ones. I have a high arch and it was almost impossible to get them over. I sent them to a leather shop in Falls City and he installed a zipper on the side of them and streched them. Awesome! Best pair of boots I have every had. I wear them all ve the Lease in South Texas. And yes they do work......got hit by a buzzsnake 2 years ago. 4-1/2 footer minus the head.

Do you guys have the waterproof models? Seems kind of silly to worry about today.
