Question on BANNED!! and Referals

I started to PM a mod about this, but I thought there may be several folks that have the same question so I asked it here instead.
I just saw where a very involved member was Banned and it got me to thinking, is there a way that we can see how long they are banned for and it showed that they were currently viewing a certain topic, so can they still log in and read everything, just not post?
Lastly where it lists how many referals you have, can you find out what the referals were for? I saw I had two, does it show me somewhere how I got them? is there a number you get before you are banned?

No, referrals = good!

If you have an infraction, it will show up on your profile. But only you can see it....no one else.

I saw Smart posting so I guess the ban is up, I think the mods can decide in each case how long the "sentence" will last

Pretty sure if you are banned you could still watch the open boards (everything but classifieds) but I don't know if the system is smart enough to keep certain IDs from looking at what is public

I hope I don't ever have to find out how the banned thing works from the other side though

Under their name where it usually says 10pt, P&Y, etc. it will say "banned". As far as I know there isn't a central location listing all banned members. That would take more memory than all of "Around the Campfire"...
