I've got the itch for a new toy and I'm thinking an AR is what I Need. But I need some help, what price range am I looking at for just a basic AR in .223? Are there good deals to be found used or new and if so where at. Thanks in advance

Ton's of info here, just do a search for AR15. You can build a nice quality rifle for less than 1K if you order the part's and build it yourself.

Went through this a year or so ago when prices were more than they are now. I got a bushmaster orc. If you plan on putting an optic on it I suggest getting the flaptop. The thing I learned is that you'll spend as much if not more on the "accessories" as you did the rifle so I'd go plain jane and dress it up as you like. You should be able to get a bare bones setup for around $800 or less. Check out gun broker

couple of good entry level ar's under $700 would be a DPMS Panther Sportical, Panther Lite, Panter A3 or Panther Lo-pro, Olympic Arms has several good entry level as wells as bushmaster and rock river.
