    Ticks and Chiggers!

I do alot of my bow hunting in large oak motts, everytime I sit in an oak tree I get chiggers and Ticks. I am looking for some kind of bug spray or something to use that isn't going to stink to high hell. Any ideas? what do y'all use?

I use Repel Permanone. You have to spray it on your clothing and then allow to dry. Do not spray it on your skin. It is the best I have found for ticks and chiggers.

Jay - Where do you get Repel Peramone? My lease is full of chiggers.

Academy and Walmart both carry it.

Yea, Permanone is great for ticks and chiggers. Works for mosquitoes also.

Did I mention it is good for 2 weeks or a 2 washings which ever comes first.

I have used " NO Stinking Bugs" for the last couple of years and it seems to do a pretty good job. The ticks and chiggers are not as bad this year as I had expected here in North Texas, and am I glad for that!

we had to impregnate our uniforms when going overseas with a 40% permethrin solution, and after it dried, was good for the life of the uniform, and you didnt smell it. I'd love to try and see if the deer could smell it after scent free-ing it!

                        I've used No Stinking Bugs.

I've heard that if you use the Peramone, you can spray it, seal in zip loc air tight bag and it will keep for 2 weeks after you open the bag. Just air it out before you wear it.

Chiggers were bad this fall where I guide...we were doing all our prep work, the grass was high, and everyone was complaining. The other guys were ragging me for wearing shorts and tennis shoes while they were wearing boots and jeans but I only got a few...and the ones i did quit climbing once they got on my legs...

I would much rather scratch my lower leg than the family jewel vault, which always seems to be where they end up if I am wearing jeans and boots.

Thanks for the ideas, I will definately have to give those a try. Yea all that rain this summer has made them pretty bad at our place. Just waiting on that first good freeze.

                              The BugPatch

The main ingredient is Thiamin (B&#185. The patch is guarenteed to have 50mg of Thiamin (B&#185 on it and it is absorbed through the skin.
                              Great for kids too!

So maybe just taking 50-100mg of Thiamin (B&#185 will be just as effective.
