    question for the AR15 guys

I have from what i understand to be a standard lower. I wanted to put a new stock on it and bought a milspec. It does not fit onto the tube I have.

How do i resolve this? Will purchasing a milspec tube correct the issue? Does the lower have to be milspec to accept the new tube? Is there a difference in the thread widths/diameter?

    Thanks a ton.

What mfg. lower do you have??

The threads on a commercial tube vs a Mil spec tube are the same..but the wall thickness is different, thats why a commercial stock will not fit onto a mil spec buffer tube

I did this exact same thing. The milspec stock won't fit on a commercial receiver extension.

That was the exact answer i was looking for.

So i can just buy another extension tube and be done with it?

I wasnt sure if the threads/diameter were different on the lowers.

Yeap, just get yourself a mil spec buffer tube and you should be good to go..

When you do install the new buffer tube, take the time to stake it properly..
