If they can work it out, see Palo Duro Canyon and get tickets to see the play "Texas". There is a bar-b-que before the play (BY the Big Texan Steak House in Amarillo) and the play as great; it will give them a little Texas history with great entertainment and beautiful surroundings.

This is one on the list, and while you are there go to the museum in Canyon on the WTAMU campus, it is a very good one. Just seeing the Llano Estacado (staked plains) would be an experience for someone from Germany as well. Just fly up for a day or two, forget about driving.

Oh yeah, while in Amarillo they could also see Cadillac Ranch and The Big Texan. All that would kill a day.
