    Wake up call!

Well my baby girl wanted to go stay at Mawmo's (my mom's) last night.
So I called her this morning to see how she was doing and if she was having fun. She said she had a dream.
I said, "Really?!? What was it about?"
Addy (3yr old), "You! And you fell out of a tree and got hurt and had to go to the hospital!".

She started getting a little emotional so I changed the subject pretty quick.
She hasn't been to our lease so she doesn't know that we climb trees.....
Just a little weird to say the least!
I was wanting to go set in my tree stand this Sat. mourning but now,,,,, not so sure. Lol

God's always speeking to us, we just need to know how, and when to listen.

Please be safe guys!!!! If you haven't set your stands yet, or you'll be hunting off the ground, wear your harness! I'll be honest with you.... I've never put one on and have a $300 5 pt harness setting in my hunting closet.... I can promise you, and her, this! I'll be wearing it for her sake from now on!

The Mac "Daddy" won't be falling out of a tree any time soon! God willing!

Agreed. You should have your harness on from the time your feet leave the ground!!!

It's blue so it need to be worn under a layer.

This was a wake up call to me! I just wanted to pass on the alarm clock.

Spooky. I never wore one in the past, and never really had any close calls, but the last couple seasons if I am elevated in a tree, I have my harness on. Just the other day a couple of my buddys gave me a hard time for putting in on while hanging a stand, but once they got up in the stand they realized how much safer you fill with it on.

I thought about this subject when reading another hunting "bowsite" recently. I actually PM'd the author and asked him to post his story here and he said he was fine with me linking it or posting it.

                      from GADAN on another site......

On Sept. 18th, I have the opportunity to go on my first elk hunt, a hunt I never thought I'd have the opportunity to participate in since being paralyzed in 2002.

On November 15, 2002, I fell while climbing a tree near my home. I laid there for about 6 hrs, all the while knowing I was paralyzed for life. After about 6 mos of rehab, I was back to work and that next year, I was archery hunting again. I'd been dreaming of an archery elk hunt since I picked up a bow in my early 20's but thought my accident eliminated any opportunity for it to happen.

Deer and pigs don't know what blue is but turkey's do.

Glad something convinced you to wear it finally

My uncle and FIL have both fallen out of tree stands. Both got hurt pretty bad, but fortunately didn't get paralyzed. FIL broke his foot, ankle, and leg, and uncle hurt his back pretty bad. I wear mine all the time.

Do you wear them in a tripod? If so what do you attach it to?
