    Computer Crashed

I had a Dell that went to a non-working door stop about a month ago. I was on outlook on that particular box and wanted to see if there is a way to access my outlook and address book from an external source. I sent it back to Fl to the computer guru's and they sometimes like to take the path less traveled. They moved all files from my hard drive to an external drive but were not able to get the box up and running again to access my outlook. Do you know if there is a way to access outlook remotely?

do you know what type of mail server and service you are using to pull from with outlook?

can you get the files from the hard drive in your possession?

Yes the outlook data file can be retrieved to get your emails, and you should be able to get your addresses too depending upon what OS and version of Outlook you were using.

What version of windows was on the PC that crashed?

two files they need to retrieve:
Mail data is stored in either a .PST or if outlook is in CACHE mode - your mail is kept in a .OST file
Personal Address book contacts are kept in a .PAB file.

Try to get the .n2k file(s) also. Those are your cache and really make life easier.

not a bad file to have as well..yup (stores the contacts so when you type the first few letters of a person you have emailed before it autocompletes the address for you.
