Recommend A Condo To Rent In Corpus/Port A?

    Hi all,

Thinking about taking the girlfriend to Corpus or Port A next weekend.

Probably be going on a Sunday and staying a couple nights as it'll probably be less crowded.

Id like to ask if anyone had any recommendations on one of them condos on the beach? Anyone really like a particular place that doesnt cost an arm and a leg?

Plan on doing a little surf fishing, and maybe head over to the Texas Aquarium, etc.

    Thanks alot.

Just got back last Friday. Rather than spend $300+ a day for beachfront, we stayed a few blocks off the beach, and rented a golf cart. Had a blast cruising Port A and never got sand on the wife's Tahoe. The aquarium and the USS Lexington were both pretty cool.

Port Royal, Sandcastle, Aransas Princess, and Dunes are all really nice.

This is where we stay every year. Great place and great owners.

Growing up, my family always stayed at "The Island House" condo, about a mile from Bob Hall Pier. We went back for a week 2 years ago and it was just as good as it always was.

Another nod for Port Royale and Sandcastle. Port Royale has a nicer pool, but Sandcastle is in a better location to me.

Check them out online and see what you think. Not all of them offer 1 bedroom condos so you may have to rent space you don't need. Port Royal is nice and does have 1 bedroom condos. The pool is really nice but sometimes there are lots of children and it can get pretty loud. I prefer Aransas Princess as it always seems quieter and less busy. They don't offer any 1 bedrooms though. We stayed at La Mirage a lot in the past but I haven't been there in probably 10 years so I don't know how the upkeep has been. I've heard good things about Mayan Princess but haven't stayed there. If you get online you can look at virtual tours of each unit for most places and see what you like as they are all furnished different. Another thing to look for is some places have washers and dryers in the room while others have a washateria on the property.

Pretty decent for the price. We weren't there much anyways, too busy fishing.

Texas State Aquarium was fun for the kids.

I think I stayed at the dunes last time. It was a very nice condo, but we had ants in our bed the first night. They wouldn't comp the night, but they did send someone to spray and the ants were gone. I got bit up pretty bad.

Thank you all! Ants?? Daaang! I guess these NON-hotel chain condos can afford not to make the customer happy.

In all my years of hotel work, ants definitely deserves a room switch/upgrade or comp night.
