Putting rounds down range and embracing the "suck" factor!!

Well, my unit is qualifying on M9 and M16/M4 and it is hot as can be. No clouds in the sky, my nose is sunburned and the day is half over. We are on the ranges for four days. I already have 4 Heat Casualties that are at the TMC for an IV. To top it off, my people are not shooting too well. We have two camo nets to sit under for shade. There is no grass, only dirt. The wind is blowing slightly, thank God, but the sweat on our faces and bodies is met with the fine dirt that is being blown around. We look and feel like miserable sugar cookies. Who sets a Qualification range for August, in Texas??!! Oh Yeah, Us

            Over come and adapt soldier.

I can only imagine how miserable the conditions must be. Stay hydrated.

              I'll trade with ya!!!!!

I'm dorking around with a Wireless multi-media setup...running cables...configuring access and pulling cables and crap in overhead plenums to complete config. Sure wished I could shoot something right about now....heat be ****ed!!!!!!!!

Could be worse... targets could be firing back.

That is why we have dove season to overlap for us wimps...

I'm having to work up some loads for a customer who has a 7mm-300wby & not even looking forward to shooting in the early hours, much less an all day deal.

I hope I don't say this every summer but this one HAS to be the worst...thanks for doing what you do.

I feel your pain - we did the same in 29 Palms - rifle and pistol qual early August 2004 right before deployment - freakin miserable!
