Is an Ipad good for a small business

I am starting a small business and we will need to order two laptop's. They will need to be able to use quick books and some other basic accounting needs. I dont know much about the Ipad and wanted to see if anyone uses it for this purpose, or if its just for recreational use.

they have apps for accounting needs, plus not as bulky as laptops

Ipads are not really for business use. you can send and recive email and a few other things, but again Not for business use.

I love my Ipad, but...you would be better served with a good laptop for business applicaitons.

I have a lap top and a IPad. Personally, I don't think the Ipad is a good fit for a business.

I think it would all depend on the apps, they do allow printing, USB connection (with an external devise). If you were setting up meetings and going to meet with clients, then yes, I think an Ipad is more than capable, I have quite a few suppliers who use I-Pads instead of laptops.

I have both a laptop, IPad 2 , and IPhone. I manage the IT department for a 10B dollar asset company. We did a large pilot program testing the IPad 2 for business use, and found that it is very limited and cannot replace the need for a laptop. There are some (mainly email users) that can replace their laptops with Ipads but for day to day OFFICE work nothing beats the desktop. Now my Ipad is great! I watch movies and surf the net and a ton of other things, but if I could only have one it would be laptop. You can just do more "Work" at this point. IMO

You are best off with a good laptop loaded with Microsoft small business professional and quick books.

Love my pad, just can't get too much work done with it. Great for emails and stuff, but hard be productive with it. You need wifi or Bluetooth to print, word processor is limited as is quicken.

if you want something small that works, get the mac air.

                              about a grand each.
