Any of the oilfield guys on here worked Nigeria recently? looks like we'll be moving our vessel from the middle east around to nigeria later this fall. I know how bad it was bqck in the 70's and 80's but has it improved at all?

I know most say they wouldn't go but the money is too good not to at least consider it and there's not a lot of other options out there right now in my field.

I dont think conditions have improved much over the years but thats just my opinion. I have operations in EG, Congo, and Angola, but thankfully not Nigeria. Hopefully someone else on here has a little better insisght. Best of luck with your decision.

I doubt it's improved much either, but as you mentioned the diversity of work that's available in the patch right now is low, so there are a lot of folks out there having to spend time in places that they normally would turn down. I would feel more comfortable offshore than on, if that is an option. Good luck to you!
