Need an Axis report around Brady

Friend and I are going to Brady next Thurs for a couple of days on a ranch hunting for Axis. I know we have a full moon, the temp is over 100 and no rain in months, just wondering if people had seen alot of rutting activity with the axis out there and what we probably could expect around feeders?

Is the place hi fence? Did not know they were free range than far north.

Water is your best and maybe only bet

Well our place down there is just dirt right now. That being said, if u are hunting a feeder then you will probably have some luck. I know we have a lot of axis on our place just west of Brady. Close to Melvin. Don't know much about the rut though. It's football season so in the middle of coaching some football. Good luck.

its low fence and the guy that owns it said he had been seeing quite a few. i have been on a high fence one time and saw some axis but this is the first time to hunt free range and to be specifically looking for them. told to take all the does we wanted and one good buck. we will see.

Hunt early and late. Remember that it is legal to use a spot light at night if the Land owner will let you. Alalfa works good for them. We havent seen much rutting on our place.

I'm an hour or so south of Brady. Axis are coming to the feeder almost daily for me. Most of the time they are coming in later than 8 in the morning. Here is a picture of one of the groups.

yep, thats the guy. how do you know him? told him about green screen but cant get him to get on. he got a new phone though and if i ever got him on it he wouldnt get any work done. are you out there that weekend? maybe we can talk him into buying or lunch one day.
