If anyone is going to be in the Kerr County area - Kerrville, Ingram, Hunt, Garvin Store, Mountain Home, etc. - on September 10, make plans to be at the Crider's Rodeo and Dance for a benefit for the Ingram Ag Teacher and FFA Advisor, Scott Fields.
Scott is battling cancer for the third time in two years. While he is fighting to keep working as an ag teacher, the duration and difficulty of this cancer are placing a major strain on the finances of his family.
Details of the benefit are still pending, but the event should include a rodeo, fish fry, and dance with a live band. As I receive more details I will post them.
There will also be an auction of some sort. If you are interested in donating an item or service (guided hunts, firearms, handcrafted items, etc.) for the auction you can send me a PM and we can make arrangements. We will have a tax deduction form available for all donated items.
If you simply want to make a donation, an account will be set up at Security State Bank and Trust, and I will provide details for the account as they arrive.
More than anything, though, we need prayers, and lots of them. Scott wants to start the school year so badly, but it will take God's power and strength to get him there.
We hope to see you there! Come help us celebrate a life well-lived with lots of living left to do!
