Deer Blind Size?? How big do I need?

I am looking to buy or build a blind that would be able to hold myself and my 2 boys. They are 7 and 5.

Would a 4x6 be big enough or would I need to go bigger? 5x6, 6x6?

    Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

When I build my blinds I build them 6X6. This gives me room for me and Momma D along with a tripod and camera set up. If I am hunting alone, I can stretch out.

With three in the stand, I personally wouldn't go less than 6X6

I think you would be a lot more comfortable with a 6x6, plus it would give you a little more leg room

I built a family blind a few years ago... My, my bride and both girls hunt out of it, it is 6X8 and it is perfect for a family... Light weight it is NOT, but comfortable for the whole family it IS....

minimum 5x5 in my book...but 6x6 would definitely give you room to spread out...

Kiddos need alot of room. When my dad myself and brother hunted together we did so in a 4x6 one year and it was packed!!!

Next year we had a 12x6
Had three windows in the front, 1 on each side and 2 in the back all 24 inches wide and 50 inches tall, full size door, 7 feet tall. Had two fold out bunks for us. Full size locker (for all the rifles we wanted to bring)! Carpet, insulation, fold out card table to play on when we got bored. Built on skids that wiched up and off the trailer. Solar panel and batteries. (pretty much a small camper)

When my son is old enough to hunt he will be with me in it!

Dads favorite saying was you can be as comfortable as you want to be.

Just buy a little crappy camper and set it 100 yards from the feeder. Way more fun than a crappy box!

                4x8 would be good

I use to hunt out of a 4x6 blind but in the process of building a 4x8 blind. My father and I hunted in the 4x6 blind and for both of us it was a little tight (I'm 190lbs and my father 275lbs) We like to stretch out and have space to move a little. We also have large office chairs so they tend to take up more room your normal chair

I would go 4x8 or 6x6 because with your boys being 7 and 5 they are only going to get bigger, and in my opinion it's easier to build 1 blind then build one and 3-4 years later have to upgrade to a bigger size.

I love the 5x6 I built last year for me and the grand kids

I hunted with my wife in a 4x6 and it was fine. 3 people would be pushing it. I'd go with at least a 6x8. I used to want to make my blind as small as possible but then I kinda realized...if they don't care about a giant 4x6 box, they aren't going to care about one a few feet bigger.

Are you bow hunting or rifle hunting? 6X6 minimum for bow hunting.

You could probably get by with a slightly smaller setup for rifle hunting.

Will be Bow and Gun. Possible to have my FIL or Dad with us too.

Anyone have plans, or drawings for a Blind that has worked out well for you?
