How high off the ground do you set a game cam?

I have always gone by what the directions said, but after this past weekends trip to the new lease and seeing how these guys have them about a foot off the ground makes me re-think the directions. They were indide the feed pens so the hogs couldn't destroy them and the pics were pretty good too.

About three fet and angled downward slightly.

I set mine somewhere in between 2-3 feet.
