    Arrow selection

Hey guys just thought I'd get some input on what arrows everyone has been using/liking. I havent bought any new in a while so I'm sure that there is some new and exciting things. Anyway I'm shooting the maxima 350's now with blazers and 100gr tips. Roughly 29" long being shot out of a Switchback @ 66lbs. Dont get me wrong I like what I have now, just looking to upgrade. Has anyone had any experience with the Easton FMJ arrows? What are yall's goto shafts?

    thanks and god bless

I shoot the FMJ and so far have no complaints. I've been shooting them for a little over a year now and don't mind sacraficing a little speed for the added kinetic energy. I used to shoot the Easton ST Epics and really liked them, but the FMJ seem a little more durable and stronger to me.

I'm really loving my FMJ's. They drop pretty fast because I don't have a speed bow, but they group well and hit hard. Durable too.

Gold Tip. I've shot others and always come back to GT.

you are pretty much in line with all other top shelf arrows with what you have now. FMJ are a lot heavier than what you have, and can bend. IMO this is a if it aint broke moment!

I shoot GT XT Hunters. They fly great out to 100yards. I also use FOB's which some people might say makes my opinion null and void.

You are already shooting some of the best carbon arrows on the market. Why mess with a good thing?

Thanks for the input. I know the maxima's are good arrows, I've been pleanty pleased with them. Just getting some outside opinions before lining the bow shop's pockets again.

I shot the gold tip 5575. They were great and I still have 9 of the original dozen. 3 broke while doing target practice adn smacking arrow together. Never had one break on an animal. No complaints with them.

I would have liked to try the FMJs because I have seen them put the smackdown on some critters. Heavy hitters with the extra weight. Only complaints from them is if they hit a pig and tweak the aluminum part they wont fly right again. Pricey too

Now I am using Beman MFX. Just because they were on clearance a couple of months ago. They have been good so far. Fly straight and took a Blackbuck with them. They are a little heavier than the Gold Tip but not enough to make a big difference. They have the same POI out to 40 yds so the GTs will be pig arrows now.

Good luck and remember newer isnt always better.

Looks to me like you are matched up well with the maximas and the switchback. I just switched to the Maxima Blue streak from easton because they are grouping better out of my Mathews S2, (dropped 4 arrors on a quarter at 40 yds). So, if you just have to try something new check out the Blue Streaks.
