Here is a video of me & my brother blowing up some tannerite. We put about 1 1/2 lbs under a 30 gal drum. We put an old steel pot on top of it, just to see if it would send it airborne or not. Hit it with a .270 and KABOOM!
I've never messed with tannerite, so I thought it would probably blow a hole in the drum, and send the pot a few feet in the air. Well much to our mutual surprise, it totally obliterated the drum, and if I was guessing the pot probably went over 100 ft in the air. We learned quickly we were WAY TOO CLOSE, lol. Pieces of the drum landed all around us, and the pot landed just behind where we were at. My brother thought the pot was gonna land on us, so he took off running. Our wives and FIL thought they were under the carport, but a few pieces of the drum landed up there too. We were lucky none of the shrapnel hit any of the cars. I had no idea it would do this... and I have 18 more pounds to play with. Looking forward to some more "experiments", of course next time we'll be further away.
I'll have a better video next time. For some reason I thought this was hilarious, so thought I'd share...
(Thanks to txsuperdad for editing! I can't figure out how to turn it right side up so sorry in advance... if you have a laptop you can turn it. Desktop... I guess lay down.
