Trail cam set up in the back yard!

My wife filled our horse water trough one morning and by that afternoon it was bone dry, but what had happened here was that the water hose that she filled the trough with, she left in the trough. And when she cut the water off and went to work, we didn't realize that the hose had a small hole in it and what happens then....syphon effect. Therefore there was not water around the trough, but there was water in the yard about 100' ft. away where the hole in the hose was.

I use an old bathtub and I have to fill it every couple of days. Everything is using it. Birds, deer, coons, porcupine, fox, my barn cats and who knows what else. I am sure because it is so hot outside I am also sure I am losing some water to evaporation.

There are NO leaks. And I will update the pictures on here when I return back home on Wednesday so surely whatever visited Thursday night will be back by then

For those that have deep water troughs... put a board or stout stick in it.

If it is low and a critter falls in to get a drink, it can crawl out. A drowned critter in your water...is nasty.
