Mathews Extreme vs Magnum

Anyone here shot both of these bows, if so what is your take on the them ?

To me the Z-7 and the Z-7 Extreme shot almost identical...The Extreme seeme alittle harder on the pull at first draw till it came over ,but the release and after shot was Exactly the same ..IMO

I couldn't tell much difference in the feel of the Extreme and the Magnum other than a bit more vibration at the shot with the Magnum. I bought the Extreme and love it with one exception. The A to A is so short that my peep is mounted a little low for me and there is little room for adjusting it. Therefore, I am not able to keep my head upright the way I like. I have to bend into the sight.

i shot both when i bought my magnum. the X was too short, i felt like i had a sling shot. good bow for a drive by, its so small it fits out the window easily.

Love my Extreme. Shoots & feels like a much longer ATA bow to me.

The Z7 Xtreme is to the Z7 as the SwitchbackXT was to the Switchback.

If you like the DXt, then you'd probably like the EZ7, as it is the only Z model with a DXT cam.


To answer the OP. Yes, I have had the chance to shoot each Z7 variant and by far the Magnum is my personal favorite, maybe a little too long for the short ATA tastes, but as hunter who also likes a good round of target shooting, the Magnum fits the bill.

That being said, my current "target" bow of choice is the MR7.

To the OP: I shot both and like the short ata of the E. cant justify the price tag right now though!

I shot both and the Z7 Magnum felt the best to me. I have a 30.5" DL and EZ7's string angle was a little to steep for me. I would say it is all in what feels best to you.

Shot all the bows and ended up buying the Z7 Extreme Tactical. I like the short AtoA and it just felt right to me. I love it.
