    F-150 Question

Y'all have helped my fix my bow already today so now I've got a truck question. My dad was backing me up to a trailer a couple weeks ago an told me it sounded like my power steering pump was going out. Lately I've been hearing what he was talking about. That's exactly what it sounds like, it's the whiny sound you hear if you turn your wheels too sharp only I'm hearing it only when I excellerate. I don't know if it's always been this way and I'm just now noticing it or if I've got something going on. When I excellerate I hear it but when I level off it goes away. It's an 08 F150 5.4 V8 w/ 88,000 hwy miles on it. Any ideas?

Could be PS pump. Also check AC clutch and idler pully. both are common issues on that truck. The PS pump has a very distict sound, the AC and ider can be mistaken for each other. A good mechanic can tell you with little effort.

That's a thought with the ac clutch with it running on high all the time.
