E. Tx Studs On A $600 Lease

My buddy took over as president of his timber company lease when his grand mother and former president passed away. His 1st order of business was to incorporate an age limit of 4.5 or older. All of these members have been on this place for years and were upset about the new rule. If you shoot a buck less than 4.5 you loose 30 days of hunting. 1st year 1 buck was killed. A 5.5yo 129" 9pt, 2nd year 4 over 140, last year 6 over 135! This is some pics of this year and a 153" 10pt my buddy killed last year.

Age managment works. It doesnt do much good to feed all the protien in the world if you still shoot 3 yo bucks. It's just hard to find the right the group that will follow the rule!

There's nice deer there, if they are let to mature! I know an area that produces nice quality bucks and is managed then same way.
