    SD Card Formatting Issues

No problem when I swap cards from Moultrie D40's to Pentax Optio W80 but formatting coniptions occur between my Primos 35 and Pentax Optio W80.

    1. has anyone else had this problem

    2. is it a fixable situation? and how?

I'll hang up and listen to the knowledge cafe here on the greeen screeeen.

Can you format the SD with the Primo and the Pentax from the devices?
Some devies like to have their own formatting (not a standard formatting like you have with moultries.. sounds like the Primos formats a bit different..

another trick is to view the directory structure (using A PC) created by the camera's formatting for all your cameras, and recreate them on a every single SDCard you plan on using with the cams...

I briefly investigated some shareware for reformatting.

If all else fails I may have to read the owners manual for the Primos 35 to see of there are any formatting options.

      Thanks for the direction.

We have had some card issues that we think are caused by going from Primos 35 to Covert or vice-versa.

We've tried to keep one brand of card for each but it hasn't worked yet. I just try to remember to reformat (fat32) everytime I download pics.

I just am trying to get it idiot proof so it doesn't matter which card goes where.

Nothing worse than getting all excited about checking the trailcam pics and there's not squat on the card, uuggh!

To idiot proof mine I have them numbered 1-6. 1 and 2 go in one camera and then 3 and 4 go in another camera and so on. This also helps when you get them back home. You know the numbers for each camera so you know what pictures your looking at before you even start your computer.

I was hoping that I wasn't going to have to do that, but that may be the solution.

I've got an email into service@primos.com

              Thanks

My Remington T.C. just did that. Called the WGI and they said that the brand SD cards may play factor in messing up my t.c. Used it for almost year without any problem until the internal memory was full, only 17 pictures taken. Cleared it on laptop then went back to put the t.c. up. week later, check again, only one picture of me walking up to it. Screen says Internal Memory Full, went back to laptop and hook it up, saw no pictures, because I cleared it up the week before. Reboot, took battery out for ten minutes and put it back together. Still shows Internal Memory Full! In the process to get it replaced. WGI said they'd send me X6C, we'll see if it works out better. They said don't use PNY brand. Use Sandisk or others. This will lock up the T.C. for good. Hope you work it out without any hitch. Good luck.

We've had several problems from lease members with PnY cards. They are no longer in our arsenal.

Get you several cards and label them. Keep them in one of these below. Not only does it protect your cards and helps you keep up with them, it make being in a hurry more organized. Plus it helps you know what card/setup you are viewing when you get back to view them. I've had the same 8 SD cards for 3 years now. Before hand I was always misplacing them or breaking them.

A Vidpro (what I have myself)..

or you can find them cheaper on Ebay like here

my uncle had a problem with his Primos 60. It was brand new and no matter what card he put in it said SD FULL. he called primos and he sent it back and they shipped him a new one. We tried formatting it in the camera and on the computer and tried many brands of SD cards. NOTHING WORKED!!!! Bad camera

Will try diff cards in Primos 35 and see if it's a go. Whatever, I think the easiest solution is to, as suggested, replace the PNY cards and keep the Moultrie cards separate from the Primos cards as I think they don't like each other. Here's the response I got from Primos Service:

And who knows, maybe it's just a funk Primos 35 camera.

For now, it's back to work for an hour or so and then I get to play in the Galveston marshes with Capt. Scott Null for reds.

Thanks for all the comments. Got to get the bugs worked out before October to see what potential awaits us.
