Need some help - Vacation planning

The wife and I are planning a brief summer getaway to Orange Beach Al in September (7th -11th). Our plan is to drive to New Orleans on a Wed. spend the night in the French Quarter (dinner and some drinks) and then drive to Orange Beach the next day. We will be heading home on Sunday. I am looking for a nice hotel in or very close to the French Quarter for one night and then looking for a rental "on the beach" in Orange Beach. Anyone have any suggestions on Hotels in the big easy and beach front properties in Orange Beach?

    Thanks

Discover the best of New Orleans from one of Omni Hotels & Resorts’ three luxury New Orleans hotels, each located near the best of the Big Easy. Plan a stay.

The Inn on Bourbon is a nice hotel and pretty affordable. Just make sure they give you a room off of Bourbon. It's on the corner of Bourbon and Toulouse.

Just to make sure we are on the same page... I'm looking at prices between $100 -$200 a night. Just want a nice place for the wife. If momma's happy, we are all happy

Anyone ever stayed at the Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, New Orleans French Quarter?

I was in Orange Beach, AL about a month ago and there seemed to be tons of options on the beach from condos to hotels.

Make sure you go visit Lambert's Cafe just a short drive away.

Established in 1942, Lambert's Cafe is a renowned family-friendly restaurant in Sikeston, Missouri, serving delicious southern fare. Experience our unique tradition of throwing rolls to diners and ...

Loew's hotel on Poydras. Price was more than reasonable, the rooms were nice, and they treated us like royalty.

The Omni Hotel is right downtown and has everything you need, including access to all of the local New Orleans hang outs. I was there in December for three nights.
