Anyone got a simple formula or way to figure out adjustments for uphill/downhill shooting (besides a rangefinder)? I need laymens terms here. Math has never been my strong suit. I am thinking that arrow speed will also play into this. I do have a clinometer but not sure how to put it into play when shooting.

No matter how high or low you are in relation to your target, you need to aim for the horizontal distance between you and the target.
In other words, if you're 20' up in a tree, just figure out how far it is from the base of your tree to the target and aim for that. Maybe it's 25 yards from the base of our tree to your target. It might be 21 or 22 yards from you up in the tree to the target, but the arrow is going to fly just like a flat 20 yard shot.
It's not that big of a deal for archery when you're shooting at such short distances, but on a 300-yard rifle shot in the mountains it matters a lot more.
