I picked up a pair of Lucchese 1883s just about a month or so ago. San Antonio based and El Paso made....doing my part with keeping the Texas boot business economy strong and thriving here at home!

Also picked up a pair of Tony Lama Stockman's (black bull hide made from the neck region = softer with texture) made in El Paso....to cover the daily ho hum I need to wear slacks or jeans cuz I was forced too scenes.

Boots made in El Paso = hecho de Mexico with many workers here to do what they have done for well over 100 years.

I long for the good old days when 80% of Chevy trucks were "assembled" in Arlington, Texas. The parts may have came from elsewhere but the people and jobs were American.

The company I rep has manufacturing in Ohio, Mexico and China...so many things come into play when deciding where the project will be quoted from.

Very few of our projects come from China (even though though the final product is always cheaper) Most companies in the industries / market segments we serve are wanting to lower both their inventories & lead times. You cannot do that with raw goods coming from China.

My preferred boot NOCONAS went out of business years ago...when they merged with Justin boots....1981 to be exact. But....I still have a pair of the original Ft Worth made Noconas which now need their 6th set of soles sewn in. I pay a bit to resole/heel my Noconas but....these boots are well over 30 years old and still look good enough to kick hippies *****es with YEAH HAW - SON!!!!

                      Quoted from the internet:

"I am a representative of Justin Brands. The above information, posted by Shane Dayton, is incorrect. Below is the correct information regarding the location of Justin Boots' manufacturing plants.

Justin Boot Company is a division of Justin Brands, Inc., a Berkshire Hathaway corporation. Approximately 50 to 55% of Justin boots are manufactured in Justin Brands' three domestic factories located in El Paso, TX, Carthage, MO, and Cassville, MO. The remainder are sourced either in Mexico or China."

Justin came out with Diamond J's several years ago which were made in Mexico. Later, almost all of the Justin boot line was outsourced to Mexico; even the "Made in USA" boots had the uppers made in Mexico. If they have brought their manufacturing back to the good ole USA, I will start buying them again. I haven't bought a pair of Justins since they "went south". I look forward to checking this out for myself; and for the record...they don't hurt my feet either.

Rut ro, there is a hater in every crowd.

If you're not on top, no one hates you.

Good thing mine came from El Paso.

San Saba, if you were only half as good to everyone else as you thought you were....
