There is a book called Fly Fishing the Texas Hill Country (or something like that). In the book it has several locations where fishermen can enter the Lampasas river and fish. It even has the GPS coordinates. It's a beautiful river. Enjoy!

I have access to the river right upstream from there and about a mile down stream as well.
OK I checked this out last weekend. It is hairy indeed. Not sure how anyone gets down that rock face without rock climbing gear

It's tough but I've seen people do it several times. I always stop there to look for fish. The place I have access to is only a few hundred yards upstream from there. The next pool up river is the really good one but you can't see it from the road.

Mastro, where did you end up going to get into the river, did you have any trouble from land owners? Just wondering because I live in the area and would love to have a five minute drive to a river we could hang out in.

We ended up not going after checking out that cliff that Draco mentioned. Teens and young adults may be able to make it down that rock face but it's not a place for older adults and or young kids.

The 190 bridge looks promising. We will give it a go next time we are out that way. i'll keep you posted.
