My grandpa passed when I was in high school. He was amazing when it came to building anything. Carpentry, electronics, motors, software...anything. One of his hobbies was building balsa gas powered rc planes. He also made a few rc powerboats but this piece is my favorite. It was built from a kit in 1975. He wired in some of his own mods that I've finally figured out. I am keeping all the original electronics but I'm adding plastic battery holders rather than soldering and taping them together. It needs a few small fixes here and there but it should still be functional. Has controls for rudder and sails. Cant wait to get it on the water! I might try tackling the planes in the future but they aren't as simple or complete. I love playing with old toys my grandpa built.
