Do you have to have a light on your rear plates. I want to move my plate where it's easier to see just didn't know if I needed to plumb in some light. Thanks in advance

I had a friend who had the same thing happen to him and only one of his lights were working.

Or was it because they were stupid & had been drinking and decided to get behind the steering wheel?

Good grief.... I read it as if they got pulled over because of the light and the LEO's fishing....which led to their DWIs...

I just mentioned this because its a reason for a cop to stop you. I know cuz I got stopped @ 5:30 going hunting. Also keep ur license plate clean. Also I would bet 60% or more people on this site drink and drive..

Texas Transportation Code:
Sec. 547.322. TAILLAMPS REQUIRED.
f) A taillamp or a separate lamp shall be constructed and mounted to emit a white light that:
(1) illuminates the rear license plate; and
(2) makes the plate clearly legible at a distance of 50 feet from the rear.(g) A taillamp, including a separate lamp used to illuminate a rear license plate, must emit a light when a headlamp or auxiliary driving lamp is lighted.

This is a better location for the LP since it can be easily seen by LEOs as opposed to the rear of the left fender.
