    need a spotlight

my old Qbeam is not cutting it anymore. i need a light i can scan long distances with and i prefer a pretty focused beam. ive been looking at a lightforce sl240. its advertised as 1 million candle power, which is much more than the spotlights i have used in the past. is there a better buy for the money or is this lightforce the way to go in this price range? the sl240 is about $140, i dont want to spend over $200. thanks

Look at the Streamlight Waypoint. 4C batteries, LED, lightweight and compact, very focused beam. Found mine online for about $60 to my door. Have seen them in Cabelas and Bass Pro too.

do not buy Cabelas brands.....I have a 15 million and it blows...it is brand new and will to u if you want. Too bulky. I love the rechargeable long skinny one from Academy in red box. $99 and is legit light

I'm a diehard Lightforce user. Have two handhelds and also have two mounted on my front bumper. They are indestructible!!!!!

Lightforce are awesome. I also just ordered a Noxx Red Dagger. I have not used these yet, but I have used one of their regular flashlights and they are amazing. You can check them out at noxxflashlights.com.

Light Force All the way, a little pricey but it will be with you in the nursing home. I have more than I need but I love everyone of them, coolest thing is you can adjust the beam.

what model lightforces do yall have? the sl170 or sl240? im leaning towards the 240 but im worried that it wll be too big and bulky. im also worried the 170 wont be bright enough for me...

Before you buy one, wait until the East Texas boys give their opinion!

A friend of mine has the 170 and I have the 240. They both are great. The 240 puts out a little more light but the 170 definitely holds it's own. They both are light weight but the 170 is a little less bulky. I only use the 500,000 cp bulb in my 240 and it literally will shine 3 times as far as the brightest q- beam. You can get a 1 million cp bulb for it too but I don't have the need. Maybe in open water it might be better.

I use one of these ..http://www.jwspeaker.com/products/wo...product=100170

it's a military grade HID ( this one actually came out of a tank) ... so it's 24Volts , but i rigged a step up transformer... it also has an IR filter, so you can use it with night vision

                        3300 lumens raw 2400 effective! ... compared to a TLR1 (160 lumens ...) it's bright!

would yall rather have a 170 or 240 and why? the 240 is double the candlepower and not much more expensive than the 170.

also, whats the difference in the marine spotlights by lightforce versus the non marine models?
