    Video Camera ?

Anybody here on GS use IMovie to upload hunting films? What kind of Video Camera did you use? I just found out that my old camcorder won't work with current Mac IMovie. Very disappointed! Filmed my very first hunt with Hog Kill and it doesn't work with Mac!

I know Mac is very finicky with the compatibles of other devices for it so I'm turning to GS for help.

I can't afford 4k Video Cameras. I will film my own hunts by myself. I only can shell out couple hundred bucks but no more than that. Prefer Sony, if possible.

I was going to use my camcorder then purchase I-Kam Camcorder for additional video camera but now I guess I need to buy handheld Video Camera first before I could do that. Grrr....

Appreciate all the help with info I can get from you guys who have more experience with Mac and other Cameras that will work with it. Thanks in advance.

JVC GR-DVL520U - Very old camcorder! Approx. 8-9 years old. Had no problem with my pc using firewire but don't have the pc anymore. Using our new MacBook Pro now. Checked the IMovie's compatible for all models, this one didn't show up on its list off of the website.

which version of iMovie are you running?

if you haven't upgrade to iMovie 11 you can get it through the Mac App store for cheap. I think it was $15.

You might look into buying a GoPro camera. They take very good videos and are ideal for filming solo hunts. They record to a SD card so you can edit them on just about any computer.
One of the best features is they will mount on almost anything. I spent about $400 for the camera, SD cards and several mounts.
they take still pics and HD video.

I film a lot of hunts and this is one of my favorite cameras.

Here is a pic I took at Lake Fairfield this spring while we were bowfishing.

SD Card? Wow, I always thought the video format uses so much memory and will not last on SD Card or do I need to buy lots of MB for SD Card? Im gonna google the GoPro Camera up now. Thanks for the info.

Looks good and very cool, does it have a zoom function? I need a zoom function if I'm sitting beyond 100 yds out. I probably will spend some time up in the tree but also want to film out of ground blind as well. Thanks!
