    Savage edge?

I happened to come across the savage edge. It's a cheap gun less than 300.00. However reviews have claimed MOA or less at 100. I got to thinking that one in .223 or 22-250 would be a great project gun to fully camo and would be good to whack some varmints and pigs. Plus cheap and fun to shoot (.223). Anyone have experience with this model?

I picked one up for my brother-in-law in 25-06 and it has been great for him. It's black synthetic and pretty durable. Would be nicer if it had the Accutrigger, but it's his first gun so I skimped on the expensive stuff. If you want a cheap, good gun then this is it.

Got one a few months ago I got the 22-250. I have only got to shoot it a few times but I like it.

savage makes a great gun if you can get past the ugly....more than likely, it will be a shooter.

I'm not sure of the action or barrel quality on the Edge and the predecesor since they also run the Stevens line. Why would savage make a direct competitor to Stevens unless they are going to stop selling it? I saw them myself and have been on the hunt for this info since. Replace the trigger with a Rifle Basix trigger because the reviews ive read on it say its horrible.

The new "edge" is call the Axis. I picked up a Edge awhile back and I liked it. The action was pretty nice and trigger was not half bad. It was about the same as my Savage 110 trigger. I say good gun.
