Don't hunt down here but have made the drive through from College Station to Spring a few times and always see deer. Looks like a good area!

I've hunted Magnolia several different times and I've always seen deer, even a few great bucks every now and then.

I live in Magnolia and my subdivision is full of deer. I feed 9-10 every evening in my front yard. Any idea what direction from Magnolia?

I hunted Magnolia for about 8yrs, ending about 3yrs ago. It was always a good area to get meat, but you really had too work 10x as hard to get some horns. Last I heard, it was getting better now that they have had a few years under the 13" rule.

I live in Magnolia. I would be VERY interested if there were more spots on the place. Send me a PM if so!

I feed literally 19 deer every evening in my backyard.

If you want to know about deer in the area, do a search on here under my name and "Backyard Bucks". I used to feed them protein but it got too expensive, they would empty 1200lb protein feeder in less than a week. AND then people in the subdivision would pick off the bucks (no hunting allowed).

Plenty of deer around these parts. But finding one that worthy of the wall are few and far between. If your hunting closer towards Waller it gets worse. Every dang hillbilly with a smokepole will be shooting at the deer the second season opens. And some don't even wait that long...You will however probably have at least a shot at putting some meat in the freezer every single year. I have hunted the grimes/waller co line for 4 years now and haven't not put at least one in the freezer. (All does, during archery season with my bow and 1 buck that I got mounted)

Theres plenty of us in the magnoila area. I live about 4 miles from Downtown mag. Can't beat Rancho Grande for lunch or dinner and the BBQ place down 1488 behind the alcohol place isn't too shabby either. Don't shop at the Food basket go to Brookshire Bros for your groceries and the cheapest gas in town is usually at the Cheveron across from Rancho Grande. Hope some of this helps haha.

I live about 15miles north/northwest of Magnolia, just inside the Grimes county line. The buck in my avatar was from my property. He is the biggest one ive seen while hunting, but I saw one that would go maybe 125 in 06 or 07 from my back door.

I have seen many big ones in and around magnoia. It just depends on where you are. East of of there is great along lake creek bottom.

Airborne - My daughter just graduated from Magnolia H.S. For her party all she wanted was ranch potatos and freetoe pie from BBQ Hut, and she got it.

There was an article on her in th Potporri yesterday about transitioning from high school to Georgia Tech for volleyball.
