Finding length of third side of triangle? MATH!
07-13-2011, 05:29 PM
I need to know the length of the third side of a triangle. If one side is 20ft and the shorter side is 3ft what is the lenght of the other side if the triangle is a right triangle?
Thanks!

By other side you mean the hypotenuse (longest side)?
I so it's about 20.22'

a^2 + b^2 = c^2 if it is a right triangle.

A^2 + b^2 = c^2
20^2 + 3^2 = c^2
400 + 9 = c^2
409 = c^2
