One of God's most quoted statements throughout the bible deals with fear. He tells us over and over "do not be afraid". We must have faith that he will answer our prayers and look over us as his children. Pray to the Lord to give you strength and try to keep everything in prespective. I have been where you are many times in my career. Stress is a killer... of the body, mind, relationships, etc. Don't let a paycheck affect you like this. Try to keep it all in perspective. Look to the Lord, pray and have faith. I will pray for you right now. God bless.

Give some of the responsibilities to the employees to improve. Relieve some of your burden, make them accountable and also feel the rewards of being a part of the solution. Be sure to see the big picture and allow the employees some latitude to do it a bit different that you might. You may find you have some great potential in those employees. Meaning, when you take time off they will keep the boat flaoting above standard and you can enjoy your time off. Learn to trust them, and yourself to make good choices. When employees set and raise the standards, all work to achieve that standard and continue to improve it. Soon, you will be the manager they respect and value and they will be the employees you respect and value. Win-win all the way around. Have some steps along the way that the rewards are tangible--after work social, fishing day, etc.

take time out to look at the big picture.
sometimes we have trouble accepting the fact that we can't do everything, be everyone to everyone, and change everything.
I like to make lists -- long ones.....then I move stuff that isn't critical to another page.
Focus on what is most important -- I bet it isn't the stuff you are worrying aboutLast edited by Oneway; 07-13-2011, 09:43 AM.

In my past life....some of my work involved dealing with death.
I don't have any stressful days......when a situation seems to be "drama based" I simply reflect on my past and give thanks for having that moment to breath and feel life!
Stress may be a sign of unknown health issues? Just thought I'd toss that out there and I agree......healthier lifestyles will promote healthy living...mentally and physically.

I can relate to your situation. My industry had unique convergence recently consisting of Obama's ARRA fund release and Hurricane Ike/Dolly Recovery release. Being central to hurricane recovery effort and working with several municipalities which recieved Obama $, I was instantly under the magnifying glass, under the government's thumb, and between a rock and hard place all at once. Couple this with a senior partner in our branch retiring and corporate's insistance on hiring inexperienced help and I was simply overhelmed. At it's worst, I could not sleep. I could not enjoy recreational activities. I suspect it would have ended bad had I not found a way to cope. One thing I learned is
"I am" are two words that have power. You are what you believe you are. So, never use "I am" negatively. No more, "I am stressed". I know this sounds hippie, but it will help.

How do y'all deal with stress, what say you TBHer's!!!
