    Line-X and UV Protection

I'm debating if the Line-X UV protection is needed or worth the extra $100-$150 they are charging for it. Has anyone gotten it and been extremely pleased with it, or has anyone not gotten it and wished they did. Basically wondering if Line-X fades and looks really bad after a few years if the UV protection isn't purchased. Trying to watch my $'s and would say no to the UV protection depending on the repsonses. I need the liner but don't really know if I need the UV protection.

    What say you TBH'ers?

I'll just say it's a truck bed and leave it at that.

Put a Yeti in it if you don't like the way it looks

I've had a Linex for 10 years in my F350....It has faded a bit but is still black and nothing bad enough to make me waste $100-150.....especially if you are one to sell vehicles under 7-8 years. It is still going strong as well. No cut marks or peeling....solid as a rock.

My front and rear bumper, toolbox and headache rack are all coated in Line-X with the added UV protection and it hasn't faded a bit in 3 years and still looks wet when clean. The only reason I had the UV additive sprayed on is due to the the items being on the exterior of the truck. I'm with the other guys and I didn't worry about it in the bed of my truck.

          Hope this helps!

I asked the shop that was applying my Line-X if it was worth it or if most people get it... he said no on both counts. Now that said something to me if the guy getting paid to put the stuff on there doesn't want you to spend the extra money to get it done.

this, I think what a rip off.

I've had line-x on every truck I've owned and while they may have faded a bit they all still looked good.

                    I wouldn't pay for it

If it's just for looks or to just cover up the metal, buy whatever you like. If you really need bed PROTECTION, get Line-X. No cuts, peeling, scuffing, tearing, etc. I've had a coupla different ones and Line-X beats the rest hands down.

i think he's getting line-x I thought the question was whether to add the uv protection to the base package of line-x.

if thats the question then my answer would be no

$100 ain't a lot to spend on something you'll be stuck with for years. I like my truck pretty.

Enjoy the extra trip to academy though

You'd already have one if you didn't need the extra payload for that ego you haul around.

Don't you have old person things to do.
