    best trail camera

I am looking to get a few trail cameras and I have already tried a few cheaper ones and was just wondering what everyone's opinion was on the best trail camera out for the money. I also would prefer to be able to leave it out for weeks/months at a time without having to check the camera and replace the batteries if possible. Any input is much appreciated. Thanks!

I will be honest - Academy Sports and Outdoors has the Moultrie M-80 for $129.99. I think that camera is hard to beat! We have one at our place and love it; and have had 0 issues with it. Runs on AA batteries (one year battery life for 8 AA batteries). SD card, IR flash, video with sound, Moon Phase and Temp on all pictures and videos. 5mp - which I think is all you need, plus is good because the file size isn't too large. We love ours!

We also own Bushnell Trophy Cam's. Has been a good camera - but costs $199. Honestly the Moultrie has more features......and is $129.

Moultrie M-80 is the only way to go in my book. Hope this helps!

If you want the BEST, and don't mind spending the money, I would go with the Reconyxx. I had mine out for months, got over 10,000 pics and still had 50% left on my batteries. It will hold up to a 32gb card, and if you get the real expensive AA's, it will last quite a while. Only problem I had with my Reconyxx was I let a buddy change the card out one day and he twisted the rubber weather stripping a bit. It came a downpour and water got in it. It still worked well and was taking pics, but because it had a "little rust," I called the service department, told them about it and they had me ship it for repair. I had it back in less than 10 days and it looked new, as they replaced several parts to put in new condition.

I'm kind of kicking myself, as I just bought 2 new Cuddyback Attacks, and for the money, I probably should have bought another Reconyxx. I'm trying these Cuddys out, and if they don't stand up to the test, may take them back and get that Reconyxx.

We have six Bushnell Trophy Cams. Bought them last Oct. and havent had any problems w them. Rain, heat, cold, doesnt matter. Just make sure you turn the sensor level to low or you will end up with a bunch of pics of nothing

                X2!

I have primos 35's and a 46. Hooked them up to a wildgame innovations battery pack. Thousands of pics and batteries last for months.

Our Bushnells from 2009 are flawless. All of our 2010 models have been sent back and one sent back multiple times.

Ive had a cuddeback capture for 4 or 5 years and over the last year is when it started missing a few pics but i like this camera. Also had a moultrie i40 and that was good too on taking pics but the digital readout always burned out cause it was to hot hot!!

How long have you had the M-80 camera out? I ask because I have one and the batteries were down to 57% after 10 days. I solved the problem by hooking up a moultrie solar panel with battery to it. Even with Lithium batteries it wouldn't last much more than a month without the solar panel.

The 2009 bushnells are good but the 2010 models suck.

Moultries have always given me problems with there lcd screen. I wont buy them anymore.

Cuddies are nice and fast, but pricy.

I now have a couple smaller bushnells and really like them...but to each there own.
