    helicopter hog hunt

    just wondering what the going price is for a heli hog hunt... i'm thinking of treating myself as an early christmas present....

    please post if you've been on one... or know an outfit doing this...thanks!

      The helicopter cost depending on model will be in the $5-600 per hour range plus milage. Add in any extras like food and lodging along with some profit for the outfitter and or landowner. I'm guessing somewhere around $750 per hour while in flight.

            already got a quote from those guys... $1200 for 2 hours of fun.. i'd want some reference that you got shots on a 100 + hogs for that price!

            just not sure I can talk my friend into it at that price...

                I doubt if they would care if you split it. We always do it that way. In South Texas you can cover about 10,000 acres in three to four hours. The best I ever did was 39 hogs 6 bobcats and 3 coyotes in one hour. This was not the norm. I might have been able to get a few more but I was using am M16 instead of a shotgun. I like to give them a chance.

                    It will probably take a year or so before things fall into place. I'm sure they will try to get as much as possible right at the start. Some people will bite and then things will slow down. Deals will then be available.
