    analog vs digital feeder moters??

    Don't laugh...may be a stupid question but what is the difference between the 2?

    There is none that I can think of. Typically, when discussing analog vs. digital as it relates to feeders, it a function of the timer, and not the motor. There are 6v and 12 volt motors.

        Digital/Analog only refers to the timer. Get a good digital timer (The Timer) and be done with it.

            The analog timers are very simple. The one I've used in the past was basically a wheel with tick marks for each hour of the day on the face. You stuck a thumb tack in a hole below the tick mark for the hour you wanted the feeder to go off. A seperate knob adjusted how much corn was thrown. It worked but not much flexibility with it. The digital timers have a LED digital control much like that of a digital watch. You can set the exact time and depending on the model various feed times per day. If you're looking for a timer for your feeder, I would recommenend "The Timer" as well, simple, effective and durable.

              The easiest way to think about the difference is

              Analog = mechanical
              Digital = electronic
