Has anyone killed a Marco Polo sheep with a bow?

I was watching a hunting show where they took this massive Marco Polo sheep. I first found out about this sheep in 4th grade, where i did a report on it. I was wondering, has anyone taken one with a bow? what's the record?

    AND....

IF you had the 40k+ to go, (im guessing it's more like 60k+) would you or would you harvest a cornucopia of other animals.....

    weigh in....

The wide open country they live in would make a bow hunt tough. I don't have the coin to hunt one but if somebody wants to fork over the cash, I'll give it a shot with stick and string.

It would be an incredible hunt. But, if I had the money, I'd kill alot more than one sheep.

I know it is considered one of the most dangerous hunts to go on due to altitude sickness. I would love to go on a hunt like that but I would say that if you hunt Marco Polo sheep you don't need to ask how much it is cause money is not a problem for you. I also think the price tag is probably closer 100k.

The last pricing figure I heard it was more like 80k lots of travel visas and it takes years in advance planning and lots of palms to be greased, that being said the adventure is just about getting there says Jim Shockey, and most the shots I have seen or read about have been 175-400 yds in bad conditions. If I had finished all the animals in North America I would think that that would be the ultimate in Sheep Hunting..But it would be with a gun.

It's been done a couple times with a bow, but only by a handful of guys - the Bogner, Frost, Nesbit group. You guys appear to be quoting pretty high prices. They're actually cheaper than a desert bighorn. Only other critter available on those hunts are ibex and maybe wolves.

I've heard it could be done for about 30k. I would do a lot of other thing first.

I have seen them on TV and from what I have seen it looks like a hard hunt

I am not really into any kind of sheep although I would not mind killing a desert or Rocky Mtn Bighorn

Personally I would try to kill more than just one animal for that kind of money but then again if I had the money I just might hunt one.

Surprised that Brittingham has not killed one with a bow

I've checked into it because it's always been my dream hunt. It can be done for $40K.

No difference in price based on weapon. This is really a gun hunt, but the intrepid with a goal of bow or broke have been successful.

The terrain's not that rough - it's actually rolling mountains & plateaus, but it's so high (16k ft) that lots of people have serious issues with the hunt. Have talked to a couple folks who have done it, and know one that never got out of the cabin, and had to leave early due to altitude. 16K may not sound that high, but I had to send a friend home from an elk hunt at 11k last year, and it was very serious.

We might have an advantage here Roger, heck I spend ALOT of elk season at 11-12k. What's another 4000 feet

It was your choice of weapon, same price. However; if you didn't harvest one you still pay the full price so I'd be inclined to take the gun along. That price did not include taxidermy or getting the cape/horns,meat back home. This was around 10 years ago when I was looking into it, so it could be 10K higher by now.
