Yards and Gardens... sure are thirsty...

I have been watering the garden, the yard and the foundation of the house.. got my water bill, rather high, but all my stuff is alive and and I guess I should be thankful I don't have to replant grass or fall in cracks in my yard... but yikes...guess I got a few more months of these to expect....
    How's everyone else doing?

I was blessed with some good rain a couple weeks ago, sure did help. You just can't water enough to make up for the rain. Just trying to keep all my plants alive. Tank is down some but not to bad. Stay cool.

Water bill jumped 100 bucks in a month and has stayed there! We have been watering a lot but have a very green yard!

The drought in N. Texas has not been as severe as what alot of you are seeing but still, I picked a bad year to put down 3 pallets of sod in my backyard. I laid it a couple months ago and it has survived but it has taken a heck of alot of water - Mother Nature has been no help. Between that and the soaker hoses I use to keep my foundation watered, I'm afraid to open my next water bill.

Jerp: I know it could be worse and thanks for reminding me that there have been worse time... I appreciate that.. I just was not expecting that number just yet.. now I know to expect more and I won't be so shocked all the way thru September...
I have been letting my grass get a bit taller than normal before I mow to try to keep i some of the moisture. Not sure if it helps, but it does seem too..

The heat stopped my garden from producing like it should so I let it go. Planning a fall garden now, greens and backstrap WOOOOHOOOO !

gave up on my garden last week close to stage 3 here in SA and water restrictions are really going to start to hurt.

czechgrubworm - Are ya'll under watering restrictions yet? We're not but I keep expecting it to happen. That would solve the big water bill problem I guess but I'd hate to lose my yard....
