Thursday Update: She's out of the coma, so that's an answer to prayer. Her kidney function is still pretty bad. She also appears to have some motor and mental deficits. They're not sure yet if its just the after effects of the shock, or if there is some permanent damage. We got a few more pieces of the puzzle this morning. When she was brought to the ER yesterday her body temp was 90 degrees and her blood sugar was over 1300. So DKA slammed her pretty hard. She's still in the ICU, but we're told if she continues to improve that will move her later today. Here in an hour or so they are going to try and get her to sit up and walk with assistance. We're praying that she doesn't show signs of motor control loss down one side of her body. She doesn't seem to have much control over her right arm, so they want to see if that extends down the entire side of her body. Prayers are working and GREATLY appreciated.
